Certificate of insurance
A snapshot someone else asked for. It is not the policy and does not change the policy.
What it means
An ACORD 25 (liability) or ACORD 28 (property) certificate summarizes limits and names a certificate holder. If the description box lists CG 20 10, that is a claim about the policy. Only the attached endorsement makes it true.
Why it shows up
Contractors, gyms, and shops are asked for certificates weekly. The useful move is to compare the certificate to the forms schedule, not to treat the PDF certificate as coverage.
What to look for
- Certificate holder versus additional insured
- Form numbers in the description of operations
- Cancellation wording, which is usually limited
Coverbird reads the declarations and form schedule on the PDF you already have. It does not sell insurance or say whether a limit is enough.
