Waiver of Transfer of Rights of Recovery Against Others to Us
Edition in catalog: 05 09 · endorsement
What this number is
CG 24 04 is the ISO waiver of transfer of rights of recovery—commonly called a waiver of subrogation—on a general liability policy.
What it changes on a policy
It limits the insurer’s right to recover from a person or organization you agreed to waive those rights against, usually in a written contract. Many owners and GCs require this alongside additional-insured endorsements.
What it does not do
It does not add anyone as an additional insured. It does not change limits. A GL waiver does not satisfy a workers compensation waiver-of-subrogation request; that is a different form (WC 00 03 13).
Where it shows up
On the GL forms schedule. Certificates often mention “waiver of subrogation” in the description box; the policy still has to contain this endorsement (or a blanket equivalent).
What to look for
- Scheduled versus blanket waiver language
- Whether the contract required the waiver before the loss
- A matching WC 00 03 13 if the certificate also claims a workers-comp waiver
Coverbird reads the declarations and form schedule on the PDF you already have. It does not sell insurance or say whether a limit is enough.

An endorsement that limits the insurer’s right to recover from another party after it pays a claim.
- Additional insured
Someone added to your liability policy by endorsement, usually because a contract asked for it.
